About me

My Story

I am a wife, homeschooling mother of two, and minister. While I was pregnant with my oldest son, I started my journey to become a labor and postpartum doula. As a doula, I have been professionally trained to provide you with the best support possible. I am highly knowledgeable in pain management techniques and I strive to be available to my clients twenty-four hours a day so that they may express their fears or concerns and answer any questions that they may have. While I do not provide any type of medical care, I am knowledgeable in the medical aspect of labor and delivery so I may help my clients get a better understanding of procedures and complications that may arise in late pregnancy or during delivery. I also offer peer breastfeeding support, emotional support, and physical support to my clients during the postpartum period. My goal is to help the family have a positive and safe birth experience, whether they want an un-medicated birth or are having a planned cesarean. I also hope to help ease the transition into parenthood. I have been trained and certified in infant CPR, Adult CPR, AED, and Emergency First Aid. I have also completed training with Rockefeller University's professional development program in early childhood education and earned several certifications.

My Philosophy

Sacred Journey Doula and Parenting services was created with the philosophy that every family no matter their make up is entitled to a safe, loving and nurturing environment to express their hopes and fears about their future. My job is to help facilitate healthy communication skills and appropriate coping skills when things don't go as planned. At the end of the day my goal is to make you feel empowered and capable.
